Dont put the lower strand too low because believe me the grass grows long by it and you end up earthing your system out.....i put ours i think at 12inches i reckon 18 would be ok on along the stock fence Nd tbf 2 strands will do it

we've done 6, 12 and 24" i think, with some agressive strimming it's ok, at least initially. i have run the wires independently (and connected them together), to enable me to turn off and/or move individual wires later

Apart from rapidly growing grass, the other problem with having the wire too low is the pigs will root up the ground & cover it with clumps of turf. Best of luck :)

Indeed i have seen that at my parents place, i think if it happens quicker than we have time to counter it, i will just disconnect the bottom wire (and move it later)

Yes the 6" wire is too low they will root the mud up against the fence shorting it out
One sow in a 50 sq m paddock will destroy the turf in two weeks leaving the Somme when it rains
Good luck with your pigs they are fun and bloody annoying at the same time

thanks for the advice, we would be sticking wires at 12 inch for the bottom then 18inches …it sure will be a learning curve , and no doubt they will have us running around like blue arse flies lol

anyway..went out a bought a mobile caravan yesterday, this will give us a little more comfort, and space….very similar to this one, nothing special at this point of the game, but doable

my new addition arrives on Monday for the BCS 740..so keeping the grass down should be easy , also bought two extra wheels to give better stability on the slope...

yes..but you certainly get your monies worth…i have been really impressed on how good and easy it works, i have not tried the flail yet, but i have the rotavator and stone burier and they do truly work well,

having sloping land , i would think twice about using the quad and attachments, the BCS just goes anywhere, the attachments for the BCS are well made

this is the 1st pass over using the rotovator
