Well - it is now being confirmed. There will be a Fest for F2Fers for the w/e of 27/28 Oct. It is the first w/e of our daughter's half-term and of course the clocks will change on the Sat night.

People are welcome to arrive on the Fri night so that those of you who have quite a way to travel can make the most of the trip. We do not have proper hard-standings for caravans here but we do have a tractor if it is too muddy and you get stuck! Alternatively, there is a holiday park further up the B3254 called, 'Hedley Wood', which is where we first stayed when organising things on the land. We also, we hope, will have 2 spare caravans - one with 2 bunks and another with a 'bedroom' plus 2 bunks in the 'lounge'. Sorry, but the wind has gradually wrecked 2 awnings and we do not intend buying any more, although we do have a gazebo.

We can provide bacon for breakfast but cannot spare any eggs and please would you bring what else you would like to have with it. Of the 2 caravans only one of them has cooking facilities. Please let us know how many would like to have bacon for breakfast and whether it is for one or 2 mornings as we would hate to run out!

We will do a list next week of items needed for the BBQ's in the hopes that some will offer to provide some of it - sausages, beefburgers, rolls, etc. Also, we need think about onions as we have not found a successful way of cooking them on the BBQ, they will have to be done in advance and then heated up on a tray. An offer of help for this would be much appreciated.

As for Sat night - well there is a positively excellent Fish and Chip Shop in Launceston called, wait for it, 'The Codfather'! But we are open to suggestions and of course at the end of the day it will depend on how many need the catering. We envisage the event ending sometime during the afternoon after Sunday's BBQ.

You may be wondering whether or not to plant some Christmas Trees this year and so we are pleased to be able to offer you quantities as small as 10 so that you can try the idea out without committing yourself to a large area. We have heard that they grow much better/quicker in a pot (like our willow slip did) - probably because one uses better 'soil'.

Hi Roger - please could you do what others have done, ie, pm us for details? As for B&B - we are rather out in the countryside, although there is a Caravan Holiday Park called Hedley Wood not far from us. We understand there is at least one B&B in one village but know that it has been booked by another party who is coming and has used it before on a previous visit. We were of the opinion from something you said elsewhere that you had a caravan and we rather thought that you would be one of those who would want to be caravanning here, but perhaps we are mistaken.

Looking forward to your pm - the more the merrier!

Regarding the Fest, please could we ask everyone to bring their own drinks and drinking vessels? We don't even have enough mugs for all the teas and coffees! Sorry - but they were all packed away before we moved onto the land and now we do not have a clue as to where we stored them! LOL

Thank you to Cornish Gems for hosting the event. It was great to meet up with some like minded people and talk about the situations that we all face and different ways that they have been resolved.

Roll on the next event!!

Hi All and a very big thank you to those of you who were able to make this autumn's Fest. Hope to make a report about it under the book owners club at a later date. Thanks also to those who were so instructive about different matters. We learnt a lot and feel it was all very worthwhile.

We would like to second Shaun's words about, 'Roll on the next event!'!

PS - we forgot to give special thanks to Roger who solved the problem regarding the cooking of the onions!

Thanks too to Shaun for providing us with a more practical kind of loo than a tent over a Tricel unit!

And finally we must apologise to Connie for not being able to fulfill her desire for a gazebo flight so that she could have a bird's eye view of our land and the rest of North Cornwall!

Hi C G, Our thanks to you for your hospitality and for making our first F to F Fest so interesting and helpful. Despite the inclement weather the farm walk was very instructive, although Connie would still have liked to have seen it from above!!!
We found the discussions on planning very helpful. Shaun P's contribution regarding the xmas tree project was fascinating although we hadn't considered it for our project, we now will. The product I described as recommended for bare root hedging is ROOTGROW a mycorrhizal fungi, lots of good information on the internet particularly www.sunseed.org
BBQ time was a great chance to get to know one another and once the smoke had died down we could actually see each other!! The sausages and burgers were particularly good and your daughter made a really good 'bap butterer'.
During the discussions for the next Fest I think it was decided that Spring/Summer would be a good time, maybe a ballot is called for?
Once again many thanks to everyone from the four of us and we look forward to seeing you all at the next Fest.

Roger - thank you for your kind comments. We would like to add that we thoroughly enjoyed your family's company and input and wish we had met you when we first purchased our land so that we could have achieved something similar to that which you have now achieved in your 'garden'! We look forward to reading about your future successes now that you can expand even more.
