Just reading through the "Scatterbrook Farm" case and came across this comment from an independant commisioned by Winchester planning dept.

6.5.2 A rental property does not fulfil the functional need because shorthold tenancies last usually six months and it is not possible to effectively run this type of business on the possibility of having to relocate after a six month period. At the end of that six month period it may not be possible to find othersuitable accomadation.

I think any application would benefit from including this quote which should nulify any suggestions by planners that suitable rental accomadation is available in the area. We all know this makes sense but the importance of this statement is that it was made by an independant consultant engaged by a planning department.

Well spotted. Perhaps we need a section to put all these little bits of info into, so they can be referred back to. They would be usefull for people who wanted to put their own applications in to their planning authorities. When you read these applications ie Scatterbrook farm and indeed my own, you find them full of jargon. This abviously instills into the planners that your agri/planning consultant knows their stuff.
