Hi Dave or learned reader.
A piece of land has come up near to me.Unfortunatley it is only 5 acres. The question being is it possible to buy the land and apply for a barn which would not be permited development and if granted would it be possible to follow Daves system on the 5 acres? I know i could rent the extra land to make up the acerage but the 5 acres is expensive. Thanks in advance.

Living on the land under development is not subject too it being 5 acres. However, your continued rights once building is finished will cease and trying to get something on the 5 acres to reside in will be much harder.
