I'm from a generation what remembers Local authority owning & renting out Farms & Land. It seems that most Local authorities have now sold the majority of these assets off and I was trying to work out how many of these will have been purchased by the "prospector" in the hope of gaining planning permission and up goes another housing estate. How do Local authorities justify this between themselves ie Finance Dept selling to the highest bidder regardless & planning trying to preserve our greenbelt. It appears that my Local authority no longer hold any Farms or land and those what do are pulling the rugs out form under the tenants by not giving long enough tenancies to actually turn them around and make a profit.

Anyone else looked into this area????
