I am diversifying in my farm to run spiritual day courses.

Do I need planning to erect a small temple-like structure?

Would it come under the same rules as a pergola?thanks

You can do things like that for 28 days a year,  But you can stretch it to 60 if you read the caravan act.  You can erect temporary structures and can stay overnight for 28 nights.

Sometimes a nasty council can insist that you store all non agricultural paraphernalia away from the land.  So it is best to make sure that all equipment is stored discretely.   A well known charity operates yearly using this method https://www.greenandaway.org/

        Namaste.

it would be a change of use of the land and so would require planning if you use it past the 28 days...
