Hi I just wondered if permitted rights have changed for building a barn since the book was written?
We farm approx 60 acres in total, mostly on rented land but this year managed to buy some land, (close to but not adjoining our rented land). and last month I applied to put a barn on it. We have just been advised that we need to apply for full planning permission as it is too large a barn. We put in an advance notification for 120 X 40 ft barn and have been told we need to apply for full planning permission as the barn we have asked for is too large.
I was under the impression that if we were farming over 12.5 acres we could go up to 5000sq ft, is this no longer the case?
