I know I do not post here very much, but I thought I would let people here know that I have just submitted my planning application, gulp ;)

The site notice went up yesterday and I have had a 'watcher' since then, a beautiful mercedes estate loitering just down the road, most likely a planner checking that there is actual activity at the site.

I have applied on the basis of functional need for the following:

2000 apple tree grafting operation using reclaimed veg oil based CHP to hold temperature within polytunnel for 4 months yearly.

200 free range chicken egg producing flock, rearing new birds myself in incubators to sustain population.

2 acres of intensive market garden cropping, using no dig methods and 100 cubic metres of composted wood chip mulch annually, sadly I have been severely hampered by the incredible number of rats in our area, they eat everything! The farm is slap bang in the middle of game shooting territory, the bird feeders and left over corn from the cover crops attract and sustain the population, I mercilessly control them with an air rifle, sorry animal rights people! If you have seen them do the kinds of things I have seen then you may see it different, or not.

5 polytunnels growing mediterranean crops.

Keep away the thieves who stole 5 grands worth of machinery etc from barn 2 months ago.

The above will be distributed from a farm shop on site and through a vegetable box delivery scheme.

I'll let you know how I get on, I have been forecast a decision by 4th March, I am expecting to need to go to appeal so I will not be too sad if the planners say no. It is madness to not be able to reside on site in light of the above situation.

Good luck to all.

B.

great to see someone posting what their need is. it seams stutpid that tthe law can be just someone elses opionion. and that is the whole problem with this agricultural licence.

i bet there would be uproar if a policeman took someone to court cos they were speeding on the motorway, in their opinion.

70mph and your fine, 71mph, your nicked and fair enough.

planning..... you know the rest
