Hi
We have planning permission under the GPDO to build a barn/feed store/emergency animal care room and the council have agreed with us that we have rights to live on the land whilst we are building the barn.
They have said that there is no prior approval needed for our development - this was granted in Feb 2013 to extend an existing agri barn. However, they want us to replace the yurt we live in with a caravan as per the caravan act 1960.
The definition of a caravan is something that can either be towed or transported on a trailer. Our argument is, that the yurt can be taken down in a couple of hours, thus proving it's only temporary accommodation, plus it arrived with us in a transit, so proving it can be transported easily.
Our question is, do we have a case to keep the yurt up and if so, where can I find the legislation/case that proves we can.
Hope someone can help.
Regards
Pete and Nicky
