This is a great site and the BLOGS are superb for reference and it has a lot of interest to the smallholder. Ignore the site regarding buying anything just read the blogs on Pigs, Chickens, Bees etc.
Some of the woodlands for sale do have meadow attached but they can be pricey.

Hey Devonian,
Just be a bit wary of buying through them,, and I do emphasise a 'bit'. I have not dealt with them directly and I have no reason to suspect their service is anything but professional. However, they are extremely pricey or at least their advertised prices are. A far better bet is someone like John Clegg and Co who deal in more realisitic terms and prices.
Woodland.couk tend to price high and wait for someone to come along with a large disposable income who want a weekend play thing.

Hi just to back up surreydodgers coment. This company bought up a large block of woodland near us and it was then sold off at small parcels at a much higher price.

Hi
The web site that was suggested "woodlands" is not not a good site for our purposes as all the properties on their site have covenants on them which seem to stop you doing anything with with the land. As all the properties have this covenant on i can only assume that the people doing the web site are suggesting that they are added on to the deed.
A far better web site is www.johnclegg.co.uk.

We have looked at the Johnclegg sit but there are no blogs, we found the site woodlands when doing a search on beekeeping we are not interested in buying a woodland. The interest is the blogs information about pigs, chickens etc found on the site is first class and so is the information about looking after trees as we have trees on our site and the blog regarding coppising is first rate.
John Clegg has none of this information, if you follow the link we have put it is to the BLOGS.

Aye Devon, the blog part of Woodlands is of worth a look and as always, it's interesting to see how other people use their land. I quite like River Cottage forum (and post there on occasion) as there are many varied sorts of folk doing more things than I imagined possible.

It is a pity that people seem to be reading the wrong message, this is about the blogs not buying a woodland or buying anything from woodland,co,uk, but about the usefull blogs on the website.
We do not advocate buying a woodland from anybody let alone from this website.

Dave sees that site and thinks only about the covenents
I think the to the blog is good and you clearly said the blog. Shame they ruined their brand and made everyone think of the for sale part. Hopefully people will read this and be cautious at least. We all have a habit of clicking around a bit, I know I do anyway!
