We have been busy sorting out some old books and one of them is a 1919 edition of 'Elements of Agriculture'.
We creased up laughing when we read that, 'A weed has been defined as a plant growing in the wrong place,'. How true that is!
It goes on to add, 'so that a potato-plant is a weed if growing in a cornfield, as is a wheat-plant in the kitchen garden.' We are hoping that this gem will make us more tolerant of the dandelions we see blooming amongst the blueberry bushes!
