Hello all

Just a quick question...Say you have successfully followed this books advice all the way through to gaining planning permission to build a house on your land. Are there any restrictions in the future for selling on - Or is the house solely for that business venture/you?

I remember hearing something along the lines of the permission being specific to the applicant - But I do have a terrible memory so could be mistaken!

Thanks
Kayte

The restrictions that would be placed on the dwelling would be an agricultural tie which is an occupancy condition on the planning permission. there would also be a planning condition on the land, that the land or the dwelling could not be sold separately. None of this would matter if the person that you were selling to was going to carry on with the smallholding, planning permission is rarely given out specific to a person and it would not happen in a case like this.
