we have just got 12 ducks, built a nice post and rail enclosure with netting at the bottom, a nice new mini log duck house.
and the real back breaker was a nice new pond for them.

it all seemed so simple, BUT the ducks run round and round the pond even with its nice sloping edges and just do not seem to realise it is there.

We are having to fill up water feeders for them 3 times a day as they just refuse to go near the pond. we have put a few cat litter trays in with water and the sit in them but just will not go near the pond

as anyone got any suggestions.

the enclosure is around 100m square and the pond is about one third of the enclosure with sloping edges and a depth of about 18",, have I just got water hating ducks or are they really stupid

The ducks are Aylesbury X Runners

any suggestions ?

we now have swimming ducks LOL

all it took was two kids paddling pools from ASDA and they love them ( note to myself dont waste time digging pond for duck )
then again i lost a couple of stone digging the pond.
