can anyone advise on voltage drop in relation to the length of cable from a 24v wind generator to the charge controller which is then linked to a battery bank,ie how far can it be in feet or metres before you loose the power you are generating ? I can get 27+ volts at the turbine but when I connect to the controller will hardly generate 24v.I know 240v will drop if you run cable from a generator but was wondering what the effect if useing 24v would be

Hi Groundhog,
I'm no electrician but the basics of electricity as I understand it are cable reistance. I think the answer is to use thicker cable between the generator and controller. Hopefully someone around here is able to give you a better response
