Hi All

I know im fairly new here and have posted some bold statements but thought i could offer some of my skills to anyone on this excellent site.

not any legal advise because we cant, NOT being legally trained and all that.

BUT

I have many many other skills, like it seems some others have on here by reading some of their posts.

Were all striving for pretty much the same thing and thought that most are doing this with either limited funds or knowledge.
and thats where my ''cunning plan'' comes in.

Why dont we share our skills with each other, swapping trades if money is short or just supplying a trade for a reasonable wage or payment in produce etc..... the payment is up to the individuals but its the idea i think is more important.

for instance.

Im a fully licensed 360 operator (digger driver) up to 30 tonnes, so i can come and dig footings for your house or sheds, landscape areas, dig/clean out ditches lay electric and water cables etc etc. (you supply/hire the digger)

i can also build a house from the ground up, so can help with construction of sheds shelters barns, roofs and offices etc etc.

i used to own a garage so i can fix engines and most mechanical things, i can weld, arc or mig and have all my own equipment so can weld up broken machinery or even make you attachments etc.

when i left school i started a landscape business and used to do alot of tree work etc.

im sure there are loads of you on here that have more or better skills than me and just thought we may be able to help each other out.

make sense to spread our skills between us rather than using outside companies that charge the earth sometimes.

just a thought.

Hi Freeborn (and everyone)
Kind of like the 'LETS' scheme? I'd be up for that, especially as we don't have a LETS scheme in my part of the country!

Myself, I am a fully qualified Medical Herbalist so could offer treatment in exchange for assistance on the land or with the buildings.

If everyone is already in rude health  , then I am also a very experienced seamstress and can undertake sewing work of all kinds including curtains, bedspreads, loose covers or recovering furniture (up to a point) - and all kinds of clothing including bridal, children's and menswear. I have had my own businesses including clothing alterations, and have made outfits (including wedding dresses etc) for many people. So peeps could bring along all their mending and/or dressmaking/soft furnishing requirements and I could get on with that whilst they get on with fencing or whatever :D

Just think - new curtains/blinds (including Roman or Austrian), bedspreads, etc etc for that new house at the end of the journey?! - or simply for the static or caravan now?

I can also teach British Sign Language.

I'm free to travel if peeps can't come to me, but this kinda defeats the objective - although I guess the one doesn't have to be done at the exact same time as the other ;)
