Anyone considering what constitutes building work will find this page useful http://www.planningp...gwork/projects/
It is on the Planning Inspectorate website and lists all types of building works

Excellent! I thought that the "Carbon Calculator" would be very useful ------- then when used it discovered it worked out the application carbon cost - not the building itself - very strange! My application costs 13+kg of carbon.

Hi Surreydodger & Woodland resurected this post in response to recent activity. Unfortuneatley the page has now been removed and the link above is Australian but very similair in content. The original did include drainage work and whilst ageeing with Surreydodger that this should be normal good practice for us 10 years of neglect has presented us with a major project. Interestingly it mentioned fencing as well.
We presented a long list of works however as SD says it does not mean you will not have problems with enforcement. They will return with new demands and problems. You will know when you are doing a good job when you get long gaps between visits.
Nice to see you got the barn through as lots on here are struggling with this at present. Typical planners, whilst the Gov are trying to extend PD rights they are trying to curtail them.

On clicking on the link in your first post in this thread, I came across the '404 error' page, but on adding the words 'building works' to the search box, it went to

http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/wps/portal/pp/pp.home/search2/!ut/p/c5/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gjtxBnJydDRwMLy0AXA0-jICcLUxNTYwtPI6B8pFm8uYslRN7dP8gZKO_pFGgBlDQwMKNItwEB3eEg15rFG-AAjgYQeXyuwytvoO_nkZ-bqh-pH2WOcId7gLkFUJWfv7lpqIWnaaCxfkFuaIRBZkAGAOv8aVg!/dl3/d3/L2dBISEvZ0FBIS9nQSEh/#7_2FTCBB1A0GP780I2NO75U8I5Q3

which came up with several links. I guess a little more searching or clicking on links is probably required to find exactly what you were referring to, Dave, but it seems helpful none-the-less. What do you think?

PS I just tried the link in my last post and it doesn't quite take you to the page I found - however, the words 'building works' are already entered in the search box immediately above 'Suggested Links' (left hand side) - simply clicking 'search' takes one to the correct page.
