Hello,

Can anyone suggest the best way (if any) to get rid of Charlock or control it to an extent of termination? That which looked yellow and pretty in May became a nightmare when it started drying up in July. I had it all cut to the bone. Apparently, it will come back in February as the roots are quite deep and the neighbouring land isn't clear so the seeds will fly over.

I would really appreciate if someone has had any success getting rid of it altogether and could share some ideas. I have had suggestions from mowing, rolling, herbicide, chemicals that do not target grass, etc. but no one is willing to guarantee 100% extermination.

Cheers

Hi Mil,

Looks like a bit of a toughy. To tell the truth, it's not something I have ever had to deal with. I found this article which is seems pretty authoritative and even gives some hints on controlling it. It seems to me though it's a case of cutting off the plants in their prime as being annuals, by reducing the seed setting will eventuall reduce their numbers. Not sure there is an outright easy all in one fix Posted Image
