Hi David  just wondered in your opinion ,what would be the chance of the government changing the law as reguards building barns and living in caravans etc.. on the land , due to a large number of people trying ?

Do you think the current value of land compared to the current house prices and avalability of credit is enough to stem the flow of those wishing to do as per your book

Have you yourself created a smallholding from a piece of land and gained planning for a house ?

Just bought the new book , can`t wait  ;D

Thanks shepie

Hi It would be very difficult for the government to stop what is happening with living on the land as it involves different pieces of legislation and enormous amounts of case law that goes back to 1947. To my knowledge there are only about 60 people following the book.to put this into perspective there are 150,000 smallholdings with agricultural ties, have you ever seen one advertised? I think that wanting to own and run a smallholding is a lifestyle choice, i am sure that if you asked the people who bought the book whether to buy a house or struggle to create a smallholding they would opt for the smallholding every time as though they are driven to do it. yes i have created my own smallholding and built the house.
