Not a good week for anyone planning on building a business around processed meat like sausages, burgers, ham or salami
Hope it's not like currys egg scandal all over again as yet again they don't seem to be telling the whole truth !!

Yup. No don't slam me on this one mods, but it must all be about agenda 21.

To cut a deep story short, if the public (our buyers) think that the meat is bad, except the expensive cuts and organic stuffs, then the public will be happy to eat greens (cheaper) and not notice that they cant afford meat any more.

This is not a dig at vegans or veggie types, but just in my view, the way things are heading. There have been scares before now and they peta out to nout!

To counter this and to forward plan, I suggest we learn our good high power greens and fruits and sell those soon enough.

Also, this is where us as small holders can excel as we can, in my case anyway, be prepared to allow the buyer to visit. It creates a rapport with the buyers and good will to-boot.

What they fail to say about most sausages etc is that the cheap ones most people eat are antibiotic fed , chemically reclaimed and injected with ? To make the white slime that comes out when cooking , no wonder they are bad for you
I agree about the greens though it is the way to go to stay healthy , BB is streets ahead with his greens/fruit and white meat
That's why he is getting hell from the council as they are farmers etc promoting red meat and he is not !
Out of all the people that have been on here from the start he is the one who should and will succeed , if I could make things grow like him I would .
I had a friend who's mum and 4 others started the vegan party they were telling all this to scientists and governments around the world , relentless banging on , now look at what they have achieved

Thank you Shepie, mate can you have a word with the Planning Committee for me LOL.

Gorillas primary food? Kale, say no more! Gorillas'd love agenda 21 which actually makes a lot of sense when read with within the context of a population density like the UK IMHO.

Meat ain't going to cut the mustard for much longer, what the hell are Dave Cammo and his mates going to do for sex life in the future!

Agenda 21 well said, you may have to explain.

I thought to ad more but I might have all of the posts removed.  Rightly so in some cases.  Agenda 21 and the newer agenda 2030 WILL effect all of us small famers and suppliers so one might start the subject in another topic.  However, for me, I know where those topics take us and the result are auguments that will draw us away from the true nature of this site, and that is getting your fields to become farms.  Once there, 21 and 30 is another topic for the farmer's web sites out there.  Its there that the Agendas 21 and 30 will reveil better explanation.

.....

This reminded me of what was said at the Camarthenshire County council a while back when a proposed new eco village was looked into.

Its at the point where a fine gentleman (?????) tells us why the farmsteads should not go ahead because they have no provision to grow grain for bread.  I find that Unbeliveable!!!
