I have been farming a field next to my land for about 7 years. The land did belong to the NHS and has recently been sold to Homes and Communities. I have just received a letter saying get off within a week or they will pass this on to their legal department. I have never had a written agreement before and was not aware the land had changed hands. What rights do I have?

you have grazing rights they can pass it on to their legal dept who would need to get a county court order to get you off.But it isnt your land and you have had the grazing.
Also known as fly grazing

Not sure if this is any more than hearsay, but i thought there was a law that if you cared for and maintained a piece of land for 7 years or more without any contestation it became your property,
ready to be ridiculed, but must be worth investigation!

not knowing the law, i would be cautious, this could end up with you paying out a lot of money ….without a grazing licence, you may just have to feel good you had 7 years free grazing,
all i can see is, you grazed your animals without written permission, now the owners have sold the land, the new owners want you off…. i hope that don't sound like i'm being harsh, just saying as i would see it, what a shame you where never given the heads up that the land was being sold
