Jeeze, i just want to speak to a human…..GRRRRRR

ok, so i found a pole in the hedge row, i would say telephone..it has those little steps and a few black canisters with biggish wires, 25mm thick

i notice one wire, going into the hedge row…..my gate is 154 mts up the hedgerow..so now looking at the gate,

I find a black cable very close to my gate..about 1 foot away, but its capped and just poking out of the hedge,

so….seeing as i want to widen the gateway, by 2ft…i contact BT, who put me on to Openreach…so i send an email showing and explaining to DIAL BEFORE YOU DIG

My God..how difficult is it to speak to someone….your request can not be dealt with, without you filling in this form….The form make no sense to me at all..

just sent another email saying….Ring me…

The type of junctions on end of cables are definitely BT. Also, that long bend at bottom of pole is def BT 50mm grey.

Guilty. Ages ago I accidentally deleted some files and one of those was a thumbnail. Instead of fixing the issue I simply copied an image at random to fix the errors in the browser :)

I was scrolling down the thread thinking I've not posted, but seeing what looked like my posts (cos of my picture), then seeing your name and scratching my head.  Naughty admin.

well the cable has reared its head again, whilst digging in post yesterday, we seem to have found the middle of the cable, 14 inches down, yet not at the lowest point….this may now cause us a problem, as the cable goes over where the track will be ...

so it looks like they have gone in a straight line form the post to the main gate, as you can see in the picture, where the poles are they sit above  where the track will be, and head out towards the tree behind the shipping container…..

i did contact open reach before widening the main gate….what a nightmare dealing with this company…would have got more response in a funeral parlour  RL]

The cable crossing your land should be subject to a way leave and in that it should state a minimum depth at which it should be buried , if not you can make them remove it !!
