Just had are three oxford sandy and black slaughtered yesterday and noticed these marks.Would someone know what there are? Slaughter man thought it was Erysipelas?

Hi yes it does look like it , if you have anymore they should be treated with penicillin daily for 3 or more days or you can put powders in their feed But !!! Ask a vet they will confirm it
Unless of course they were your only pigs
CG had this too and I think you can vaccinate against it ?
We have a closed herd and have always been disease free ,for 5 years now it's the best place to buy young stock , we charge more than a market but you know what you are getting

Thanks.Its slightly disheartening that you do your best! We've only had three or four a year just to share amongst friends.There part of a woodland and heathland mangerment plan which we would like to increase this year but am slightly nervous!! I've been told "easiest to keep" but we've had fatalities in the past.PM from DEFRA suggested young bracken on one.
There was four this time but one died also in the vets hands.sussgestion

Bugger wrong button!
Vet suggested it was the runt.but with this skin condition I think it was that caused the death. Found thepigsite.com which has a good image and description....
