I have not completed the book yet, so not sure if this bit is covered

a few mentioned in the council tax thread , about the address…seeing as its not the official residence ,  now in the book, it says register the address with the council...

ok i am fine with that, this at least gives an address for any post… but surly, you are registering the address as a business address.. ???? if thats the case, would we not pay business rates, or is agriculture exempt …like i said..i have not looked this one up yet ..so please excuse my ignorance

Find the postcode give your land a name as in Jonnys Farm and start sending post to yourself make sure you put a nice clear sign up for the postman and an external mail box that is user friendly if mail doesnt arrive go to local post office and ask for it be nice and appologise dont give them your life story explain where the farm is and keep sending post.Hopefully job sorted if you register for a postal address its a bit more long winded but also can be done.Agriculture is not liable for business rates generaly and also your not liable for council tax because you are only staying there likewise dont try putting your bins out

If you can avoid getting an address with the council then do it.  Groundhog's sending post to yourself works and also give your address to animal feed merchants and agricultural suppliers plus fuel suppliers. The more the merrier.

the Law has changed so that all new addresses are to be allocated by the local council so you had better be quick before the councils catch up with the law. (  maybe not too quick)

We h\ad problems with the neighbours complaining that we did not have a registered postal address. However, Sorting Office were told by their Business Customer Services at Royal Mail that our property was a registered business address and therefore that mail had to be delivered to us. Neighbours were not happy about this but it turned out there was nothing could do about it.
