Having listened to local news and the heartrending stories by some locals (from Devon and Cornwall), we cannot help but feel sorry for those who have no insurance just because their property is in a designated 'flood plain'. Having been agents for various insurance agencies, we can reassure anyone purchasing land in a flood plain - you can get insurance but you may have to pay dearly for it.

The land we really really wanted was in the Exe valley and we are extremely grateful to the gentleman from the EA in Exmouth who pointed out to us all the possible disadvantages and gave us no encouragement but instead actually discouraged us from proceeding with the purchase.

Can you imagine what it would be like to follow the F2F route and then lose it all because of the weather?
