Hi All,
What a great forum, this is my first post and i'm really looking forward to learning a few new tips.
I've recently had a planning application refused to restore and convert a derelict building into a dwelling. The reason given was because the property is too dilapidated and would require substancial reconstruction.
Although the building is missing part of the upper floor and the roof, at least 50% of the original building survives in a good condition. My structural surveyor's report confirms that the building remains are also suitable for conversion once repaired.
Would i be within my rights to continue with the repair and restoration of the building so that i may reach a stage to resubmit the application once the building is in a more complete condition?
The refusal was after all aimed at the conversion for use as a dwelling and i don't really want to ask the planners this question now that i have drawn attention to the building in the recent application.
Thanks

Hi Sapper - have you bought the book? Because, if so, please send a pm to Admin or a Moderator with the password which is the last word on Page 2. This will then mean you can be classed as a Book Owner and not just a member and therefore allow you access to the whole of the community forum.
We look forward to being able to welcome you fully.

Well done! Please would you now repeat your question in one of the protected forums. We all aim to help one another but this community was created particularly to help those who have read the book and specific planning questions belong in one of the Planning Permission Advice Forums and not in one of the General Forums.
