Hi, is there any PP needed for a bore hole or any other department at the local council that would need to be informed if you wish to have a bore hole drilled.

As far as I know you can have a bore hole drilled without planning permission or licence for the extraction of upto 20,000 litres of water per day. I had to do a double take on the figure as it seems heck of a lot.
The same applies to a water well..........for up to 20 cubic meters of ground water
What a great idea no more water bills.
However should you wish a geothermal bore hole that is a different matter

Hi missed this little bit of information, should the water from the bore hole be for use other than your own personal use ie for say caravanners or campers you will have to have it tested annually for suitablity.

Hi
i live in watford herts and used to work on a golf course !
we had a borehole which someone came and checked to see how much we used
and we needed to consult planners when we wanted a second one but that may have been due to our usage
rather than planning control its self
but i thought id mention it !
