Well at last we thought we would start our diary, after 3 yrs of research and a lot of being told how mad we are by family and friends we have finally done it.

We have a lovely rural cottage in Norfolk with a good sized plot, we have been keeping chickens, turkeys and duck and loved every moment but, as from Monday it goes to the new owners.

We have finally made the break the kids are off to uni (AT LAST) so just the two of us and our 2 staffies Skipper and Tizzy (Skippy a wanna be sheep dog that don't know left from right but he tries so hard, Tizzy so gentle with other animals and she is stone deaf, we have not told her so she copes very well with it and knows sign very well now).

We have a holiday chalet in Gt Yarmouth that we are going to be using as a base from Monday as the cottage should be all cleared out by tomorrow for the new owners.

On Wednesday the land search begins, we found that land sells so quickly we are taking off in our caravan to try and find our perfect spot.

Starting with Cornwall then Devon finishing off West Wales we are hoping a month on the road will be productive as when we find the right place for us the cash will be in the bank . and we will be in a good situation to haggle price.

We will be doing a video diary of our travels as well as setting up the new Aquaponic holding.

Will sign off for now as we still have some packing to do, will post again next week when we are on the road.

This is our last night in the cottage, It is all getting very real now but we are so happy with the decision we have made and can't wait for the adventure to begin.

This time tomorrow we will be homeless mortgage free and ready for our lifestyle change to be honest it is both scarey and exciting.

The sale of the Cottage was very fast, next step hit the road mid week.

We have arrived in Torquay tonight ready for our first week on the search for our new land.
after the move we are exhausted so have decided to take a couple of days chilling out before we start harassing all the estate agents in Devon and Cornwall over the next few weeks.

It is unexplainable the feeling of being mortgage and debt free no doubt in years to come this will change again but knowing no brown envelopes will be dropping through the door make this whole experience more uplifting

Cant wait to start looking at differenet pieces of land we have about 15 to view so far but we will still be trying to view any more that come up.

We have started our video diary today this will be posted on our youtube channel as we go along with the road trip

Hi all

well a week in to the land search and it looks like we have cracked it.
Today we viewed a great plot of 8 acres just out side of Bude in Cornwall. The plot has a bore hole and electric on site, as if this was not a bonus enough the land owner has offered a further 15 acres on a pepper corn rent for 3 years.

We are putting in an offer first thing in the morning so will keep you all informed as to the out come

Hi all

Well our offer has been accepted, Wooooo hoooooo.
All the relevent paperwork has been sent to our solicitors who tell us it all should be complete within four weeks.

We have now extended our stay in Devon( Brixham ) till this coming friday as we have decided to have a week of rest and a bit of fishing off the breakwater.

After all the talk and reasearch it has not quiet sunk in yet what we have done, Still most of our friends and family think we are mad, But hey, we are not the ones going to be eating the 8 week old water fed Chooks.

We are now back in Norfolk and to be honest we wish we did not have to have come back, after our trip over to the west country.
But as with all things loose ends must be sorted out.

The solicitor contacted us today and all contracts are ready to sign it seems we are now full steam ahead.
We have booked a nice chalet just outside of Bude for a couple of months, so atleast we have a base to work from till we get fencing and the amenites connected and the basics up and running.

It is now getting very exciting going from 1/2 an acre with our chickens and turkeys in Norfolk to 22 acres in Cornwall.

We should take possesion of our new plot in the next 2 week, so hopefuly with summers coming we will be able to get plenty done this year.

But as with all the best plans things can go wrong, so in a couple of weeks i will be visiting my favorite Longboad shaper in St Agnes as it would ber a crime not to take advantage of the Bude waves if we are held up on the land for any reason.

Ohhhh delays delays , things went a bit quiet last week still being in Norfolk and rearing to go back to Bude we called the solicitors to find out what was going on, Ahhhhhhh it seems our solicitor decided to take a two week holiday with out mention.

This was a bit anoying as we have now got all our possesions in storage in Bude and living out of suit cases in our chalet in Norfolk.
We have been looking at what is left to transport down and decided it is not enough to warrenr another van hire so today we are going to buy a new iford williams trailer so that will kill two birds wth one stone as they say.
We are now hoping to complete by the 15 of this month as the land owner is as keen as us, this wouls have all been dusted by now if not for Holidaying solicitors sorry for the delays in updates just working off a dongle in Norfolk is a much use as two cans and a bit of string at times.

will update soon
