Thanks for the report, all very interesting. I agree that it would help in such events to have people who are already on their land and following the book.

My family and I are in such a position, and so far its been text book, having had our first visit from the EO last week. We are still waiting for the letter to which he would like my response. He departed on what I would say was "good" terms, even shaking my hand, but await his letter.

He did appear to accept my deliberately vague answers regarding my position. He agreed that I was able to stay whilst building my barn (obtained by PD) but expected it to proceed quite quickly. However as my late mum always said to me don't raise your expectations too high and then you avoid disappointment. Perhaps I should have imparted that advice on the EO. :)

I would just like to say a big thank you to Surrey Dodger and B for their wonderful hospitality. I have only just returned from my travels and what a very interesting trip it was.

Coincidentally I met with many people who have had planning issues - and the over whelming opinion was avoid planning applications like the plague. Everyone I met said it was far better for them to fight you rather than for you to fight them. If you think you are within legislation then just get on with it. They will then have to prove you wrong. Something which they are all going to struggle to do with further cutbacks and (hopefully) new planning legislation backing us up.

It was a pleasure to meet everyone....Piglet and Paul (Snapper) x

Hi is it time for another fest :nyam:, didn't make SD's in October but that seemed to have gone very well. We are both very keen to get together with like minded people face to face to chat about everything and anything to do with F2F

Hi Ruthie,

To avoid confusion, I have set up a thread for your F2F Fest. I hope this is okay, if not say and I'll amend.

SD :)

PS,, I'll lock this thread once you have confirmed that's okay.
