Hi, we have managed to save some money and after the sale of our house we attended a Alpaca care course, we now hope to keep and breed Alpacas, we have been serching for land and are finding it difficult to find the 12.5 acres or more in the area we would like to be. After reading the Wellground article would i be right that given a sound business plan that we would be able to purchas less than 12.5 acres, as we have found a slightly smaller amount of land and are sure that it would suit the needs of the Alpacas and ourselves to live on the land with them in tempory accomodation.
We would be gratefull of any feedback on this.

Hi
We run our successful Alpaca buisness on just over 8 acres of managed paddocks , I am not sure about the rules on what acreage is rquired from a planning point of view but best practice I believe is 4 to 6 animals per acre .
We have just written an article for Alpaca world magazine on how we are making a living from our Alpaca business .
