house with a bit of land and not very many neighbours, but where?

i wish i could afford to buy a farm or small holding, its my life long dream, i love the uk, especially scotland and wales but everywhere really – does anyone know of a county in the uk that still has such properties available at reasonable affordable prices in the current ecomonic climate?
