Hi. I'm a green apple to allof this although I've grown up in and around the country, currently in Devon.
My wife and I would like to live/work on a small piece of land, around 1 acre providing a secluded campsite alongside a few animals such as chickens and goats of which thier produce we would sell on locally.
Can I use this book to any degree to help me as I have seen a comment stating its only good for 5 hectares or over.
Any help anyone could give me would be very appreciated as its a mine field/
Many thanks

Jenny,
You can live on your land however when you put in your 28day Agriculture Determination you will need to rent ½ an acre within 5 miles to make up your holding to the require 5ha. You will only need to rent it during the 28day notice period and for a further 56 days. Usually renting a small amount for grazing is normally cheapish dependent upon where you are living.
Once the PP has been granted then you start building and move your caravan on to the land.
Alternative is to apply for Full Planning Permission which is an expensive, long and tedious journey.
Jobs a goodin.
