Hello,

Once I have the land and apply for permitted development to build a barn, then I understand I'm allowed one mobile home for myself? I'm wondering about volunteers who (I'm hoping) will be helping with the Land.- would they be allowed to camp or better still would I be allowed an extra mobile homes for them ?

Thanks

Saleh

Do we understand you to mean that you are unable to follow Dave A's advice regarding Camping and Caravan Club Licence?

Otherwise, it's a very interesting question when one considers the number of caravans which appear on certain building sites.  However, we suspect that the planners will take a pretty dim view if one of this community tried doing such a thing and we also suspect that they would not forget that fact when it came to making a decision about a planning permission application.

Don't forget though that you are allowed a caravan on your land for 28 consecutive days (if you have the right amount of land) in certain circumstances such as care of animals.  We used this right for 28 days in the very beginning and we said it was while we were dealing with the hedges.

Technically there is no limit to the number of mobile homes/caravans you can have on your land if the occupants are engaged in building/engineering works for which you have been granted planning permission,if it is required. cornish Gems is definately correct though you may upset the normally frendly helpful planners making life very difficult for yourself in future dealings.

Thanks for the reply,

I've not come across Dave A's advice regarding Camping and Caravan Club Licence yet, however, my plan has been to have a regular supply of short stay volunteers in to help build up the agricultural side of the business. I'm going it alone and will need volunteers to help me with this. So, I've been considering the possibility of having two caravans, one for me and one for anyone who's currently helping me.

The land I'm currently looking at is 25 acres, some of it is woods and the rest pasture-land. I'd like to be able to set-up the first part of it which is growing herbs and raising hens.

We would suggest that you follow helend's example -she has spent over a week so far in reading old posts and she still has not yet got to the end of them!  In doing so, she has become very knowledgeable and her input has often been of benefit to the community.

If you do read the old posts, you will find that there are some groups who are allowed to camp on your land without any kind of licence.

Excellent, thanks I've come across Helend's excellent post and will dig them all out.
